FNPI launches free storytelling training for journalists [Latin America]

Latin American journalists interested in covering human rights can apply for this program.

The Gabriel García Márquez Foundation for a New Ibero American Journalism (FNPI) is organizing the Five Senses Program, a series of online workshops that will provide participants with storytelling and research tools to produce stories about human rights issues in audiovisual, radio and written formats.

The training will take place Feb. 7 to March 21, 2017 in Spanish and will feature a written journalism workshop with Cristian Alarcón, a visual journalism workshop with María Arce and an audio workshop with Marta del Vado.

After the conclusion of the training, the producers of the six best stories will receive a US$500 stipend for their postproduction.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 25, 2017. Registration is free.
