Restrictions eased for Chinese journalists in Taiwan

Taiwan has relaxed restrictions on Chinese media on the island, in a sign of warming cross-strait relations, according to Radio Netherlands Worldwide.

Regulations have been scrapped that required Chinese journalists to inform the Taiwan Government Information Office about reporting trips and required bureaus to stay in hotels rather than rent offices. Chinese news agencies can now have five staff on the island, instead of two.
