Fellowships for U.S., Japanese journalists to encourage policy-related reporting
Journalists from the U.S. and Japan can apply for an Abe Fellowship for Journalists, designed to encourage in-depth coverage of topics of pressing concern to the United States and Japan through individual short-term policy-related projects. Deadline: September 15.
Applicants must submit proposals on one of the following themes: traditional and non-traditional approaches to security and diplomacy, global and regional economic issues and the role of civil society in public policy.
Applicants should be U.S. or Japanese citizens with at least five years of professional experience in print and online journalism. Freelancers are also eligible.
The fellowships are sponsored by the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) and the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP).
