U.S. contest announced for improving access to services online
The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation recently announced a contest for the development of online applications that would improve citizens' access to government and community services in the United States.
The contest, "Apps for Inclusion," challenges participants to consider existing government and community services and create mobile and online applications to improve individuals' access to these services through broadband.
The contest is sponsored in conjunction with the Federal Communications Commission and was announced during America's Digital Inclusion Summit on March 9 at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Further details will be published soon.
The Knight Foundation has committed US$100,000 in prize money to the contest.
