Iraqi journalists facing government repression

In recent weeks, media in Iraq has been challenged, due to Increased numbers of beaten journalists, a new regulation that requires broadcast media outlets to pay US$5,000 for license fees and requirements that 58 media and television stations have permits.

Observers suggest that the climate has worsened following the recent string of bomb attacks, which left 250 dead and and corroded the government's reputation.
